Affected people's perceptions of cash programming in Chad

Cash transfer programmes are a key component of the World Food Programme’s (WFP) assistance strategy in Chad. In the Lake region as well as the southern Moyen Chari and Logone Oriental regions, some 140,000 refugees, internally displaced persons, and returnees are supported with cash in hand, digital vouchers and other forms of cash transfers to meet their needs. Ground Truth Solutions implemented surveys in these regions to gauge affected people’s perceptions of current cash programmes, while also providing an independent complement to on-going monitoring efforts. We investigated recipients’ positive and negative experiences at various stages of programmes in different contexts, as well as questioned their preferences with respect to programme features like delivery mechanisms.
